Participants will see a complete walkthrough of the installation procedure and will gain experience with key components of Ubuntu, including Ubuntu’s new Unity interface and the Software Center for installing any of the thousands of applications available with a single click. Attendees will get a hands-on guided tour of Ubuntu’s selection of high quality free software by exploring word processing applications, photo management tools, web browsers, and games. Finally, resources for obtaining support and assistance will complete the workshop.

This is the third time we’ve offered this workshop. As Ubuntu is the operating system on all of the lab computers, this workshop is part of the foundation to the rest of what we offer. Not only is Ubuntu great for home use, but itis a rising technology in the business world as well. Ubuntu is the #1 operating system in public clouds like Amazon’s EC2.
