Middle School Summer Day Camp – Engineering Technology Camp

9:00 AM – 4:00 PM Daily
Middle school students will immerse in the world of engineering with hands-on activities that integrate Drones, 3D frames and the Engineering Design Process. Students will express their creativity as they explore STEAM through design.

General Information
Join us this summer and watch your students grow in their experience with STEAM! IT-oLogy will offer a variety of week-long IT enrichment summer camps where students explore technology based themes in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math.
Students will immerse themselves in units of study that foster creativity and discovery-based learning. Our “STEAM Series” summer camps with hands-on activities encourage explorative engagement and innovation. Students will create projects utilizing collaboration, computational thinking, logic, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Students will present their projects at the end of each camp. No prior technical or programming experience necessary.
Summer Camp Focus: STEAM & 21st Century Skills Development in: • Project Base Learning • Creativity • Problem Solving • Logic • Critical Thinking • Collaboration Students will work individually and in a group setting. No prior technical or programming experience necessary for any camp. Camps parallel to South Carolina’s Computer Science and STEAM standards.
To foster opportunities where students can apply knowledge gained from attending our summer camps, students are encourage to enter their projects in IT-oLogy’s Innovation Challenge event scheduled this October, 2018.
Camp Includes: All materials, camp t-shirt, snacks and a last day pizza party.
***Thanks to Francis Burns United Methodist Church and End Child Hunger SC, IT-oLogy will provide lunches for all students throughout the week of our full-day camps. Students will still enjoy a pizza party and movie on Friday, as scheduled. Students are not required to bring their lunches each day, unless they have a food allergy or special dietary requirement.

General Information for all Summer Camps
Drop Off: Please arrive no earlier than 8:45. For security purposes, we will require that you sign in your child every morning and sign them out every afternoon (with proper ID). To have your child dropped off or picked up by someone other than yourself, we will need his or her information in advance.
Pick Up: Sessions will end each day at 12PM for half day camp and 4:00PM for full day camp. We ask that you pick up your child no later than 15 minutes after the end of the session. If you are unable to pick up your child by the designated time, you will need to let us know in advance.
Parking: Parking is available in the Tower parking garage that attached to the IT-oLogy building and is only accessible through its entrance on Gervais Street heading west. All visitors are required to take a ticket when they enter the garage and must park in a non-reserved space on the 3rd floor or higher, however there will be no charge for parking when dropping off and picking up. Once parked please take the elevators to the third floor of the garage, which corresponds to the second floor of our building. IT-oLogy is located through the double doors at the end of the crosswalk.
What to Bring: See the note above regarding lunches. If you prefer, you may pack a lunch for your child each day. On the last day of camp, students will enjoy a pizza party. We will have refrigerated space available and provide water and snacks during breaks. If your child has any food allergies, please also provide them with a snack.
Behavior Policy: Each student is to participate and be respectful in class. There will be no texting, accessing personal email, or accessing non-class websites during class sessions. Participants may use cell phones, iPods, iPads, etc. during designated break times. We reserve the right to dismiss any student in response to inappropriate or unsafe behavior. There will be no refund for unused camp time if this occurs.
