IT-oLogy Announces New Strategy and Services

In 2009, a movement was started to bring attention to the growing shortage of information technology workers in South Carolina. Without these critical skills, organizations would be unable to keep up with the fast-changing demands of technology. From this movement launched IT-oLogy – to sound the alarm for the need to encourage and equip more citizens to pursue IT as a career.

In 2015, IT-oLogy answered the challenge to provide solutions designed to fill the IT talent pipeline. Programs including field trips, cyber Saturday’s, summer camps, tech competitions, IT certification trainings and professional networking events enabled IT-oLogy to promote, teach and grow the IT profession. The majority of our services and events were offered at our downtown facility.

In the first quarter of 2020, the world changed drastically and without warning. IT-oLogy quickly embraced the challenge and adapted our service model to better serve our clients, beneficiaries, donors and stakeholders. The current pandemic has reinforced and refueled the urgency of IT-oLogy’s mission – to promote, teach and grow a diverse IT workforce in South Carolina.

We are transitioning from a brick and mortar facility to offering programs, events and services at client sites, through virtual learning and using a blended model incorporating both. With this flexible service model, we can quickly respond to the needs of our stakeholders while expanding our reach to enable more South Carolinians to realize success in high-demand IT careers.

IT-oLogy is fully committed to the communities in which we work and live. We are forming new partnerships and developing innovative ways to promote diversity in the IT field while helping all South Carolinians re-skill and up-skill to operate successfully in the new normal.  Our programs and events address emerging trends and critical skills such as:

  • Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality
  • Robotics and Drones
  • Coding and Design
  • Digital Social Media Marketing
  • Software Development
  • Business Continuity and Change Management
  • Project Management

Delivery of these programs will be adapted to utilize workspaces conducive to social distancing and safety while implementing flexibility and agility of learning in the new technology economy. The new services and delivery methods will offer:

  • Customized technology programs that are delivered at client and beneficiary business and education sites where our instructors wear personal, protective equipment and practice social distancing guidelines.
  • “Tech in a box” solutions accompanied by a live instructor using web conferencing.
  • Digital business continuity consulting and training for small to medium nonprofits and businesses
  • Virtual coding clubs, IT enrichment workshops and cyber summer camps for our preK-12 audiences

IT-oLogy is perfectly positioned to be your IT skills service provider. We stand ready to enable our clients to reconnect, rebuild and move forward with IT careers that will define the future of South Carolina’s communities.
