Tammy Mainwaring serves as President of IT-oLogy. A visionary IT leader with almost 30 years of IT and teaching experience, Tammy’s responsibilities include setting the vision and direction of the organization, strategic planning, working with the board and other key stakeholders, managing staff, and building relationships within the community.
Tammy has experience in education, adaptive change, ITIL Service Management, and Information Technology management within large governmental and private organizations. She has extensive experience with IT policy and standards development, strategic planning, grant writing and evaluation. Most recently, she served as an I/S Training Manager at BlueCross BlueShield South Carolina (BCBSSC). Prior to BlueCross, Tammy was the manager for Instructional Technology at the South Carolina Department of Education where she managed several million dollar grants, accounted for grant funds, reported on progress, and developed return on investment documentation. Her work with IT strategic planning, assistive technologies, and grant outcomes evaluation was highlighted by the Federal Department of Education and in THE Journal magazine. She also developed networks throughout the state and nation in the K-12 schools, universities, state departments of education and the legislature.
Tammy holds a Master’s Degree in Information Technology Management and a Master’s Degree in Education. She also holds PMP, ITIL Expert, DDI Effective Facilitation and Master Teacher certifications.
Tammy is committed to educating current and future IT heroes and growing IT talent in South Carolina.
Kristine Hooker serves as the Senior Director of Operations & Compliance. She was one of the original members of the team that developed the concept of IT-oLogy from the vision of BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, IBM and the University of South Carolina. Kristine has over ten years of experience in the IT industry, previously as the recruiter for the IT Entry Level Training Program for BlueCross BlueShield of SC. Over the course of Kristine’s career with IT-oLogy, she has served as Director of Operations and Program Manager.
She was raised in Columbia, SC and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia. Kristine is a graduate of the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Columbia class of 2011, and Furman University’s Institute for the Management of Information Technology class of 2010.
Kristy McLean serves as Director of Programs at IT-oLogy with over 20 years of technical and teaching experience. Kristy’s responsibilities include managing, planning and oversight of all programs and activities for IT-oLogy.
Since 1996, Kristy’s leadership and training experience has influenced a variety of I/S settings within BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina (BCBSSC). Kristy is passionate about educational programs, instructional analysis, design, development, and delivery of information technology based training programs in the classroom and online learning. Kristy loves working with children and professionals to inspire growth and mastery of skills to achieve success through education.
Kristy was born and raised in South Carolina. Her favorite thing in the world is spending time with her husband and daughter. She has a great love for faith, family, food and the great outdoors.
Jamesetta is the K-12 STEAM Program Manager at IT-oLogy where her primary focus is to provide, expose, develop and reinforce technology skills to students, parents and educators in South Carolina. She has over 12 years of experience in the IT field where she has been employed in numerous support roles. She also volunteers and develops STEM hands-on workshops for students locally and nationally, and serves on various non-profit IT advisory and planning committees such as PMECS – Partners for Minority in Engineering and Computer Science at USC; PMECS – Cyber Security at Allen University; and Lexington Richland District 5 IT Camp Advisory Council. She also serves as BDPA – Black Data Processing Associates local chapter and National Youth Technology Conference Program Coordinator.
Jamesetta earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Technology – Cum Laude from Columbia Southern University. She also received an Associate Degree in Applied Technology in Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology for Dekalb Technical College in Decatur, GA.
Born and raised in Eutawville, SC, she now lives in Irmo with her husband, Anthony James. They have two daughters and one son; Brittany, a Molecular Biology graduate from FAMU- Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University and a Biology Teacher at Winter Haven High School in Florida; Monique, a Criminal Justice graduate from the University of South Carolina and currently enrolled in USC Law School; and Michael who also attends the University of South Carolina majoring in Electrical Engineering.
Rachel Barnett brings more than 25 years of experience in communications to IT-oLogy. She “cut her teeth” in the world of advertising and public relations at the full service agency, Chernoff/Silver (now Chernoff Newman.) From her first position as a young media buyer to senior account executive and special events manager, her work experience has run the communications and marketing gamut.
Previous positions have included Director of Marketing at EdVenture Children’s Museum and Director of Marketing at the College of Hospitality, Retail, and Sport Management at the University of South Carolina where she was on staff when IT-oLogy was first begun. Her commitment and interest in IT-oLogy stems from the planning and implementation of the first Computer Camp held at USC in 2007.
Barnett is a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina College of Mass Communications with a BA in Advertising/Public Relations.
Clint identifies growth opportunities and creates the strategies and business partnerships to implement them, to help IT-oLogy achieve long-term sustainability and community impact. He has taken his experience from running his own e-commerce company and applied it to generate leads and sales for both B2B and B2C companies, from publishing, to industrial lighting, to higher education to technology. Clint is passionate about introducing people to the information technology field. He’s honored to serve the world-changers of IT who are building a better future for all of us. He loves spending time with his family, playing the drums in his church, and swinging golf clubs every now and then.
Annjanette Dunbar is the Internship Coordinator for the Coursepower Program at IT-oLogy. As a Certified Employer Relationship Specialist, she has more than three years of experience working in Business Services in South Carolina. Annjanette enjoys the challenge of finding the right employment or internship opportunity for the individual and believes everyone is employable. She has also developed a great talent in networking and the art of building relationships. Her best tip for anyone that’s networking is “networking is not about who you know, but who knows you!”
