This week we had a chance to speak with current Coursepower student Quantasia Caldwell. Caldwell, who is an integrated information technology major, says the minor fell right into her hands and happened to be a perfect fit for her.
“Well, originally I was a computer science major, but it wasn’t the right fit so I switched to integrated information technology,” Quantasia said. “I found out about the Coursepower program and the classes I had taken previously happened to satisfy the minor.”
The integrated information technology major is a part of the University of South Carolina School of Hospitality, Retail, and Sport Management. The major focuses on several core areas of information technology, including IT project management.
Caldwell, who is on the project management track, is already seeing the benefits of the minor and her major. The University of South Carolina-Columbia senior is interning with Boeing this summer as a junior information systems analyst, in fact.
It seems as if the Coursepower applied computing minor was just what Quantasia needed to have things come together for her, “It’s definitely going to help in the future. Someone looks at my resume and sees experience in project management…that could get me the job right there.”
