Nearly 20 people attended the Javascript Fundamentals workshop held this past Saturday at IT-oLogy. Attendees ranged from high school students, to college students, to current IT professionals looking to learn a new skill.
The purpose of the workshop was to familiarize participants with the fundamentals of the widely popular but largely misunderstood Javascript programming language. Topics such as history, trends, best practices and additional learning resources were covered.
Attendees got hands on coding experience in areas of the language including objects, functions, closures, prototypes, design patterns and more. Attendees also learned about managing the quirks, shortcomings and avoiding the generally “bad parts” of the language.
Additional Javascript workshops will be offered in the future at IT-oLogy.
