IT-oLogy and City of Columbia Collaborate to Provide IT Training for Veterans

Columbia, S.C.—(March 3, 2021)—In partnership with the City of Columbia, IT-oLogy will offer a limited number of scholarships to qualifying U.S. military veterans to participate in a three-day, live instructor-led, virtual IT certification program. Qualifying veterans will have the opportunity to obtain the Information Technology Infrastructure Library Foundation certification (ITIL 4) at no cost to them.

IT-oLogy will train and prepare a pool of veterans who are looking to re-enter the workforce through employment in the Information Technology (IT) sector. ITIL is the most widely recognized framework for IT and digitally enabled services in the world. It provides comprehensive, practical and proven guidance for establishing an effective service management system.

“South Carolina has a shortage of qualified IT professionals to fill open jobs across the state. Gaining an industry-recognized IT certification is an invaluable step towards a career in IT and allows veterans an opportunity for re-entry into the workforce,” said Tammy Mainwaring, President of IT-oLogy.

This course is designed for students looking for the most up to date IT service management education, as well as an understanding of how to provide business value in the digital era. The ITIL Foundation course is business-focused, and can benefit any veteran who has an interest in IT service management. This includes all the processes and activities to manage, design, create, deliver, and support IT services to customers.

Veterans with an aptitude for information technology are encouraged to submit their resume and proof of veteran status to Kristy McLean, at [email protected] before April 1, 2021. There will be limited space in the program. This program will kick off virtually via the Webex platform in Spring 2021.
