About the Award for Aspirations in Computing:
IT-oLogy serves as the South Carolina regional affiliate for the National Center for Women in Information Technology (NCWIT). Every year, we host the Awards for Aspirations in Computing (AiC) which aims to recognize and award all students in 9th-12th grade who self-identify as women, genderqueer, or non-binary to receive access to a community of more than 16,000 technical womxn and exclusive opportunities. The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing (AiC) honors high school womxn who are active and interested in computing and technology and encourages them to pursue their passions. AiC recipients are chosen for their demonstrated interest and achievements in computing, proven leadership ability, academic performance, and plans for post-secondary education. This Award is really a springboard; it empowers applicants to try for bigger and better things. All students with award designations will have access to a national network of peers, scholarship opportunities, and support by professionals and volunteers, and various prizes. South Carolina participants will be invited to attend a scholarship reception in Spring of 2021 and have access to additional scholarship opportunities. Applications are open now through November 5th (with an opportunity to apply by October 15th for additional awards!)
Join us on October 5th for a virtual drop in session beginning at 5:00 pm to learn more about the application process and how you can participate!
